About Tic Tac Toe

Tic Tac Toe is the classic three-in-a-row game, free to play in your browser on phone and desktop with no download or sign-up. Pick X or O and choose an easy, medium or hard computer opponent. Take turns placing marks on the 3x3 grid, and the first to line up three wins. A running score tracks wins, losses and ties across rounds. Each round takes under a minute, which makes it perfect for a short break.

Mouse: click a square. Touch: tap a square. Keyboard: Tab to a square, Enter or Space to place your mark.

Tips

  1. Take the center if it's free. It is part of more winning lines than any other square.
  2. Set up a fork: a move that makes two lines of two at once. The computer can only block one.
  3. Always block an open line of two first. Most lost rounds come from missing that one threat.
